| A Serra da Peneda integra com as serras do Soajo, a Amarela e a do Gerês, o Parque Nacional da Peneda Gerês , no extremo norte de Portugal.
As fotografias que publicarei aqui, são apenas o reflexo de um dia passado, debaixo de chuva, nas imediações da Senhora da Peneda. O santuário está encravado numa estreita garganta que barra o olhar do visitante para todos os lados, salvo para o Sul. Começaremos por subir essa garganta, da cota 690 para 990 metros acima do nível do mar e admirar a beleza da serra. Depois desceremos ao santuário, um imponente conjunto arquitectónico do século XIX, inspirado na Igreja do Bom Jesus de Tenões, em Braga. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The Peneda Mountain is sited in the Gerês National Park , in the northern part of Portugal. It also comprehends the mountains of Soajo, Amarela and Gerês.
The photos that I will hence publish are simply the expression of a rainy day spent at Senhora da Peneda. The sanctuary is carved in a narrow gorge that prevents the visitor from looking anywhere but South.
We shall climb up that narrow passageway - at the pace of a shot a day - starting at a height of 690m and ascending until over 990m above sea level while admiring the beauty of the mountain.
We shall then descend to the sanctuary - an imposing architectural setting of the 19th century, inspired on the Bom Jesus de Tenões Church, in the city of Braga.
